We are getting ready to move here in month, and I am supposed to be getting my stuff together and packing up my craft room. Instead, I decided to make my quilt for my baby girl to come in Early May. </p> <p>I had fabric to a make a quilt, but once I found out I was having a girl, I changed my mind and went with something else that I had that I loved. I just wanted to use some girly fabric!!</p> <p>I chose the Modern Bliss 2012 collection from Robert Kaufman, by Andie Hanna. You can see more pictures at <a href="http://blog.spoonflower.com/2013/06/andie-hanna-fabric8.html">Spoonflower.</a> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Tis7MC3GZjc/UumsHMEdaAI/AAAAAAAAEGo/iMsO-femuhw/s1600-h/IMG_5450%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5450" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_5450" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-aKuyyBPmvNo/UumsIJkTclI/AAAAAAAAEGw/SV7rXVXuNzg/IMG_5450_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="449" height="310"></a> </p> <p>When I saw this <a href="http://www.craftbuds.com/prizes-mosaic-tiles-quilt-along/">quilt along</a> I knew I had to participate, since I had fabric but couldn’t pick a pattern. So I purchased <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1607057301/crabud-20">Modern Bee – 13 Quilts to Make With Friends</a> for my Nook, and jumped right in! </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-P_fgSAC8qJk/UumsJw8PpII/AAAAAAAAEG4/Fo3bBVPM8N8/s1600-h/IMG_5468%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5468" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_5468" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-n1h3qab8Sqk/UumsK9tI4dI/AAAAAAAAEHA/YPJBmK6CLqs/IMG_5468_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="447" height="329"></a></p> <p>I’m not the best at lining up things, so I arranged my squares a little differently. And after I put together my squares, I realized it was way too small, even after adding the border… so I added more to it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-fOh9_xIs20c/UumsL0_H3-I/AAAAAAAAEHI/SpT-JLw0pD4/s1600-h/IMG_5516%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5516" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_5516" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-vsF-qZbrhYE/UumsMjUnYfI/AAAAAAAAEHQ/jtjGVBG86p4/IMG_5516_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="449" height="316"></a></p> <p>I magically got them to all line up (which is rare since I have only done a few quilt tops, and well this is the second quilt I actually quilted). And I needed to add one more border, just to get the extra look I wanted. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-21_fpUASNhU/UumsNp6SwzI/AAAAAAAAEHY/kMfXQwdUM3g/s1600-h/IMG_5547%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5547" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_5547" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Mn1hENXwuEg/UumsOdsDBgI/AAAAAAAAEHg/ZBhMEwFjnuY/IMG_5547_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="440" height="304"></a></p> <p>Added some black binding, and completed the look. This is for the baby to have to lay on in the living room at our new house. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-BQYFEVR5VjE/UumsQJwjIoI/AAAAAAAAEHo/0a6-Hxz69a4/s1600-h/IMG_5536%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5536" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_5536" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-VvqP2m6dLt4/UumsSEOZlTI/AAAAAAAAEHw/n0Ntckb5tXw/IMG_5536_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="437" height="365"></a></p> <p>A quick back view. I quilted it very simple since I am still a beginner. But I love how it ended up looking! This was such a fun <a href="http://www.craftbuds.com/prizes-mosaic-tiles-quilt-along/">Quilt Along</a>! There is still plenty of time to join in! Well plenty of time if you can finish in a couple weeks! </p> <p>I know its not perfect, and not exactly how we were supposed to do it, but I made it a little bit more me, and I really enjoyed this pattern! I can’t wait to try the other ones in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1607057301/crabud-20">the book</a>!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-fPhOXvF-Am4/UumsTLJxsHI/AAAAAAAAEH4/sHQt7vljqsY/s1600-h/IMG_5542%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5542" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_5542" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Dn6Iq4D64tg/UumsT5ts7QI/AAAAAAAAEIA/9o1uLrTRpuY/IMG_5542_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="323" height="498"></a></p> <p>peace.love.dove. </p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-74900608556011839892014-01-09T17:08:00.001-06:002014-01-09T17:08:42.780-06:00Big News<p>Yes, I have been MIA for a VERY long time. But I think I have a good reason… </p> <p> </p> <p>I am pregnant!</p> <p> </p> <p>We got back from our vacation in Australia mid August and have several visitors come visit. We found out we were expecting and I have not been the same person since. </p> <p>I have been so tired and found myself busier than ever! All I want to do is sleep, and it makes me quite unproductive. </p> <p>I am almost 24 weeks along right now, and due May 3rd. Here is me just before Christmas.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-pKfwSvEt8Ng/Us8r7gjN5XI/AAAAAAAAEEo/gbl12URGXYM/s1600-h/1474536_10101560504124190_1861061072_n%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="1474536_10101560504124190_1861061072_n" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="1474536_10101560504124190_1861061072_n" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-JyKgVRNutHI/Us8r8hg43xI/AAAAAAAAEEs/IiCHVelgGPM/1474536_10101560504124190_1861061072_n_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="263" height="357"></a></p> <p>and then again at New Years!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-l06XAK8bLyo/Us8r9QNnPII/AAAAAAAAEE4/d2NoYUgZqn4/s1600-h/1558492_10101590604078640_1991877293_n%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="1558492_10101590604078640_1991877293_n" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="1558492_10101590604078640_1991877293_n" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-VTQG1_wC5fA/Us8r-FHN3fI/AAAAAAAAEFA/Ag2S-Zniw1k/1558492_10101590604078640_1991877293_n_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="267" height="393"></a></p> <p>We also found out just before Christmas that we are having a baby girl! We are so very excited. I was almost 100% certain we were going to have a boy, but it has now sunk in, and I can’t wait to decorate! We decided last night that we are going to do a Koala Bear themed Nursery, since A) my love for gray is insane, and B) We fell in love with Australia. We will definitely add some cute girly touches, but I am not a big Pink person, so it will be interesting how it all turns out! </p> <p>I hope your craftiness is great! I really miss glittering, crafting, and sewing but I know soon that I will be able to clean out my other room, and start working on my own baby quilt, and glitter projects!! </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> <p>and here’s to 2014!</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-50405432464600979982013-10-23T22:42:00.001-05:002013-10-23T22:42:40.590-05:00Halloween Party<p>One day I want to have a Halloween party as awesome as this one…</p> <div style="clear: both"><a href="http://www.minted.com/board/1591671?utm_source=embeds&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=board_embed"><img border="0" alt="Halloween Party by Cherie, see more Minted custom party invitations" src="http://www.minted.com/board/1591671/minted_board-630.png" width="425" height="425"></a> <p style="font-size: 10px; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #666; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px"><a title="Halloween Party" style="color: #8aad3a; text-decoration: none" href="http://www.minted.com/board/1591671?utm_source=embeds&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=board_embed">Halloween Party</a> board by Cherie. Find your invitation and then, upload images to go with the theme, and you can refer back to them later. </p> <p>My Halloween party would totally ghoulish, with crazy drinks, black everywhere, and of course glitter! </p> <p>I wish Hawaii wasn’t so hot, otherwise I might consider having a party! I would love to have some of that cool, crisp air, and even snow to make it feel like I is somewhat fall. I know I shouldn’t complain, but sunshine and palm trees get old after looking at them for a year… Yep. I have lived here for a year already! Two left to go!</p> <p>More to come this week and next on some upcoming projects! I have been super busy, and or lazy, that I haven’t done a whole lot, but that will change… hopefully!</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-72197873962239527942013-08-07T11:00:00.000-05:002013-08-07T11:00:07.481-05:00A Fully Finished Baby Quilt<p>Nope, I haven’t quilted my <a href="http://oneheartscrapper.blogspot.com/2013/05/texas-teardrops-quilt-along-finished-top.html">Texas Teardrops quilt</a> yet. I am still a bit nervous, and I am working on making my quilting space big enough and organized to do so. Plus we got our new dining room table to other day, so I had to put those projects on hold since I am no longer allowed to quilt/sew at the dining room table. </p> <p>But my cousin, and best fried is due any day now. Her due date isn’t until August 23, but her belly is huge, and so is that baby. So for her sake, I hope she has it sooner than later! So I finished the baby quilt I was making for her. We picked out the fabric together when she told me she was pregnant, and then she loved what I used on the <a href="http://oneheartscrapper.blogspot.com/2013/05/texas-teardrops-quilt-along-finished-top.html">Texas Teardrops Quilt</a> so I used my leftover fabric in it as well. Luckily they went great together. </p> <p>Here is the final quilt that I am working on getting in the mail ASAP!<br></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-VhwLLbk1jQU/Ufw-eGTohtI/AAAAAAAAD88/wQqpDBcNzaY/s1600-h/IMG_3646%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3646" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3646" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-pkGF4k_oXWk/Ufw-fE3WJCI/AAAAAAAAD9E/X50E_8h9hI0/IMG_3646_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="474" height="327"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-3xSe1ayC-1M/Ufw-fzH2QPI/AAAAAAAAD9M/fSMlZSKsbLk/s1600-h/IMG_3667%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3667" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3667" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-DlLHQcNUiKA/Ufw-gwq1aCI/AAAAAAAAD9U/kSt5c2aZZVE/IMG_3667_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="334" height="515"></a></p> <p>I kept it super simple because A – this is my first official finish. Not the first one I ever made, and B – She is waiting to find out what she is having, but teal is her favorite color… and well, green is mine! Which is why we are perfect because our favorite colors go together, and well, we are blood related, and the closest thing to a real sister I could get. </p> <p>As a kid I always bragged about being two week older than her, but I know for the rest of my life she is now going to brag that she is two weeks younger! Growing up 5 miles apart from each other, but still going to school in two completely different school districts. Some people say we look alike, but she is blonde hair blue eyes, and I am brown hair green eyes. You tell me? So, I am starting early on my cards. Last year I purchased a personalized <a href="http://lifestylecrafts.com/letterpress-holiday-card-design-1.html?lc=1108">L Letterpress Template</a>. I couldn’t wait to use it, but I got too busy last year with all of our crazy moving adventures. So I am making them this year. </p> <p>I love color, so I didn’t want to do too many traditional colors. This is what I have done so far. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-wIfBMbXwSTA/UdIU65fvlQI/AAAAAAAAD7A/xuWFGW2F9bg/s1600-h/IMG_3411%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3411" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3411" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-kxkyDnDGeZQ/UdIU7-4QO6I/AAAAAAAAD7I/Hl-E1atzrsQ/IMG_3411_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="448" height="378"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-knM7gDYfc2w/UdIU9E3EogI/AAAAAAAAD7Q/teumQcZ20c8/s1600-h/IMG_3412%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3412" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3412" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-KCviRwFXcI4/UdIU96NmamI/AAAAAAAAD7Y/mGm7piVh8dc/IMG_3412_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="452" height="312"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/--Wjc3e4ekMQ/UdIU-dTNVVI/AAAAAAAAD7g/Rw9YVcA35eM/s1600-h/IMG_3418%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3418" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3418" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-UUzx4NFB2kQ/UdIU-3ed2vI/AAAAAAAAD7o/0GIuKalRuCM/IMG_3418_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="452" height="312"></a></p> <p>Right now my favorite is the blue and red. We aren’t going to celebrate today. </p> <p>We are going to celebrate by taking a trip to Australia later this summer! Yep, I think we need a vacation from Hawaii. </p> <p>We will be spending our time in Sydney, so let me know if you have been there, and what we should do!! We are both super excited!</p> <p>To many more! </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-49700701333344166092013-06-22T15:57:00.001-05:002013-06-22T15:57:21.636-05:00A Day of Quilting<p>I had guests for a couple weeks, and I had been super busy. Yesterday I was able to pull out my sewing machine to work on a few baby blankets or baby quilts for the many pregnant woman I know. </p> <p>Here is the top of the one I am going to give to my cousin. I am still figuring out if I want to add a border, trim it, or what. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-7bzd1cHfgws/UcYPkQYGEGI/AAAAAAAAD4g/UuTzI8I1GMA/s1600-h/IMG_3388%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3388" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3388" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-INHbWWFvpj8/UcYPk_u8XRI/AAAAAAAAD4o/Nu-tUKRMtxE/IMG_3388_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="452" height="312"></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-6FyjSkCPDpM/UcYPmLrNNFI/AAAAAAAAD4w/-Icoam4HJqQ/s1600-h/IMG_3396%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3396" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3396" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-odWTeN9bEIs/UcYPmpJAazI/AAAAAAAAD44/4FmeA_ewe4k/IMG_3396_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="458" height="316"></a></p> <p>I totally screwed up on this and wish I had ironed after each triangle, so the back side is a little crazy. I learned my lesson. </p> <p>Next is a quilt that I had been wanting to do for a long time. I had purchased 6 mini charms from Simply Color by Moda, and I wanted to do a simple colorful baby quilt with it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-SuRW5ey7mCc/UcYPnfVGKYI/AAAAAAAAD5A/UpbuX_9dV6U/s1600-h/IMG_3391%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3391" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_3391" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-mkqL9S1GUAY/UcYPoAXcQyI/AAAAAAAAD5I/j-NeXW7juc4/IMG_3391_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="450" height="311"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-o1_hUj7XfO8/UcYPoqiS0nI/AAAAAAAAD5Q/hAKE4fmWoVc/s1600-h/IMG_3392%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3392" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_3392" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-JAE9EAsInQg/UcYPpK3_CMI/AAAAAAAAD5Y/lUDY8B61Vmg/IMG_3392_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="452" height="317"></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-d4Z15CdZveI/UcYPp8H3cRI/AAAAAAAAD5g/1B6c1JziZYg/s1600-h/IMG_3395%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3395" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_3395" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-IEfwI35wBLo/UcYPqQ0HyvI/AAAAAAAAD5o/-vzW1h_Qir8/IMG_3395_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="456" height="315"></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-3i-aWxQHEq4/UcYPruODvMI/AAAAAAAAD5w/A2uXOBQnhzU/s1600-h/IMG_3400%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3400" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_3400" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-JeT0fTl8ZSU/UcYPsL1JnJI/AAAAAAAAD54/bKFhEmQMpRg/IMG_3400_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="462" height="319"></a></p> <p>I will be adding a border to this one. I am thinking gray. I do have more squares and could do a square border around it, but I am all out of the pinks. But I have some of the fabrics to do a double border. We will see what I end up with, I could always do white too. Any suggestions? </p> <p>This one is not perfect at all. I was working on trying to match up the squares. I am not the best, but I got better with practice. If I love this so much I might keep it as a wall hanging. Do you see Lucie hanging out under the table? She has to be near me all the time. </p> <p>Next week I am hoping to get my L Letterpress out and work on some cards! I have been neglecting it while I got the house together, but I have some new templates I want to play with. I would also love to get my Christmas Cards done early!</p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-55265272961686244942013-06-14T15:11:00.001-05:002013-06-14T15:11:14.260-05:00My First Visitors to Hawaii<p>I have been MIA these past weeks. My first visitors to my house came! We had so much fun, and I was super busy. Mostly busy hanging out at the beach or the pool, but I will fully admit, I got nothing done, and it felt great. </p> <p>You would think since I lived here, that I actually done most of the stuff to do, but I haven’t. </p> <p>I visited my first Waterfall.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-yxRcV-hC4CY/Ubt4vSsWLoI/AAAAAAAADiI/ZtpvMHKveP8/s1600-h/DSC02774%25255B1%25255D%25255B1%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02774" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02774" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-HX7IcM5srpc/Ubt4wJGSCnI/AAAAAAAADiQ/GqT-7FLjweI/DSC02774%25255B1%25255D_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="270" height="490"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-FtOGAQ_IIe0/Ubt4xXHeLMI/AAAAAAAADiY/YVFSitQ8H9Q/s1600-h/DSC02763%25255B1%25255D%25255B1%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02763" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02763" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-AfvEJxHCDp8/Ubt4xyRn3SI/AAAAAAAADig/JG0tOug7RTo/DSC02763%25255B1%25255D_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="445" height="261"></a></p> <p>Stopped by the Dole Plantation (which was not worth the trip). My husband and I have driven past it so many times, but this time we stopped, and it was just a giant pineapple gift shop. Save yourself some money and get a pineapple at the grocery store. Its cheaper, and the exact same thing. My friend is to the left of me in the light dress. </p> <p>I even went snorkeling! But, I am not a snorkeler I found out. I had troubles breathing and I think I may have had a panic attack so I let my friends continue to snorkel as I watched from the shore. I did see a ton of fish, and was so afraid something was going to eat me. I do want to try it again, but I think I will have to practice in the pool. </p> <p>Well, now off to start some things, finish some things, and probably do some laundry. I hope to be back soon to craft, sew, and throw what I know onto my blog! To find out more about it, you can visit <a href="http://www.quiltinglodgeblog.com/p/texas-teardrops-quilt-along.html">The Quilting Lodge QAL page</a>, or the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/texasteardropsquiltalong/">Flickr group</a>! There are a bunch more quilts posted in the Flickr group. The talent is amazing in there. </p> <p> Here is what the top looks like. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ahnMG7G_MZs/UaEn_pilhpI/AAAAAAAADIg/MvyWlIpjuDw/s1600-h/IMG_3052%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3052" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_3052" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-eIJKJvJzOr8/UaEoAXHi2TI/AAAAAAAADIo/qPZDh6OJ-EA/IMG_3052_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="454" height="261"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-R2l2q_6g19o/UaEoBi9oN0I/AAAAAAAADIw/XFcOiyGj9fM/s1600-h/IMG_3046%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3046" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_3046" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-coQZ2i-r5-o/UaEoCR2KhfI/AAAAAAAADI4/cuPIkj-3Syk/IMG_3046_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="458" height="320"></a></p> <p>I love the fabric I picked out! I think it turned out great! I got it from Jody at <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/fabricshoppe">FabricShoppe,Modern Fabrics on Etsy</a>. She is awesome, and I have to support my home of Minnesota, which makes me love her even more! I can put a post together of the fabrics I used in case anyone is interested in knowing what they all are. Unfortunately she is almost out of a most of these fabrics (and why wouldn’t she be, they are amazing) but she got some new stuff in, and I am in love with all of it! Now to decide what to make next!</p> <p>I know my quilt is not perfect, but I kind of like that, since it is my first one. I still have a lot to learn, and now I need to learn how to actually quilt it! Let me know if you have any good websites to visit on how to do this, or online classes to take to learn the actual quilting process, or any tips or tricks I should know!</p> <p>Thank you so much for all the love I have got along the way! You crafters are the best online community, and thank you for letting me be part of it with you all! </p> <p>Next on my list to is prepare my house for my very first visitors to Hawaii!! </p> <p>peace.love.dove. </p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-8281444529532078222013-05-20T02:12:00.001-05:002013-05-20T02:12:39.341-05:00Don’t trip over your husband<p>note to self. don’t trip over your husband.</p> <p>This might happen.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-jDwiApGhfGc/UZnM3NHA40I/AAAAAAAADH4/4XEsxgrl5Bo/s1600-h/IMG_3022%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3022" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3022" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-w_P6J7HPPyc/UZnM34n8HcI/AAAAAAAADIA/p-GghEnfGFs/IMG_3022_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="342" height="227"></a></p> <p>And you might get it on the quilt you are working on…</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-wchx2Cyatwg/UZnM4kaTriI/AAAAAAAADII/btMqZtpqizY/s1600-h/IMG_3024%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_3024" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_3024" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-urObmEQlIxI/UZnM5ZHLkcI/AAAAAAAADIQ/oT54TDb3vek/IMG_3024_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="423" height="292"></a></p> <p>You might try baking soda and water, but what you really need is a tide to go pen… seriously… </p> <p>I freaked out. </p> <p>hopefully I fixed it! For a little while I was doing great. I could feel my grandma’s presence, as I sewed. She was an amazing sewer. But as I almost finished the quilt top, I put the two corners on the wrong side, and then my sewing machine fully stopped. Nothing. So I have two corners to put on, which I will do tomorrow, at my friends house. Then off to find a sewing machine repair place on the island… if it costs more than $50, its probably best I get a new machine… so let me know what I should get… I want something for everyday sewing and good for quilting. Comment away, because I need some help. Right now I have a Singer Esteem that I got for my wedding 5 years ago. </p> <p>Quilt Along… Here are some pictures </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-NC7K5ryhjSg/UZXVIOrYi1I/AAAAAAAADE4/6Lw0C9i5GqM/s1600-h/IMG_2960%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2960" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2960" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/--vc_tbnnzWI/UZXVI-66vSI/AAAAAAAADFA/9-7V3uZwuOk/IMG_2960_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="452" height="281"></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-3wsiqn8KciY/UZXVJj6dqnI/AAAAAAAADFI/SqfM9_lkp_A/s1600-h/IMG_2961%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2961" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2961" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-tZl_AekQOEE/UZXVKQh1LHI/AAAAAAAADFQ/j3X2n4k5Kr8/IMG_2961_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="451" height="320"></a></p> <p align="center">Squared up!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-isVNtnUHsYI/UZXVL3Ib21I/AAAAAAAADFY/08Ss6rCXafo/s1600-h/IMG_2965%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2965" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2965" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-uE88l-yiNz8/UZXVMt_3suI/AAAAAAAADFg/lPad3tzfEZU/IMG_2965_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="448" height="314"></a></p> <p align="center">laid all out</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Yahgprf5PEw/UZXVOCQ1C6I/AAAAAAAADFo/30wfSTjScWU/s1600-h/IMG_2968%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2968" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2968" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-N7mtRw1_brk/UZXVO2aZrKI/AAAAAAAADFw/abw493njvzY/IMG_2968_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="452" height="312"></a></p> <p align="center">rows done!</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Cjt9rW0C2zQ/UZXVPiTro4I/AAAAAAAADF4/cKkP_zvJFu8/s1600-h/IMG_2969%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2969" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2969" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-1_I2WZBmOsA/UZXVQGJibmI/AAAAAAAADGA/1uIT1wFL2wU/IMG_2969_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="279" height="425"></a></p> <p align="center">Attaching the rows!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-1Ojs-ApfWZM/UZXVQ3E2ZnI/AAAAAAAADGI/jHWeUFcT4Uk/s1600-h/IMG_2970%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2970" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2970" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-g5i-BF7-ABo/UZXVRh27K7I/AAAAAAAADGQ/0rwQWWhtHp0/IMG_2970_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="273" height="416"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-f4T0wzS3tlE/UZXVTFoVE0I/AAAAAAAADGY/AR5H0LUvaeE/s1600-h/IMG_2971%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2971" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2971" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Tc2DfXBNlNM/UZXVT91WRpI/AAAAAAAADGg/oVIxl6gz2dY/IMG_2971_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="441" height="304"></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-i07u5AKO38E/UZXVU_mdThI/AAAAAAAADGo/H8mM33OzIhY/s1600-h/IMG_2975%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2975" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2975" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-r02ZDZH1skI/UZXVVo6t36I/AAAAAAAADGw/xCkhkQ8csDM/IMG_2975_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="450" height="311"></a></p> <p>Later this weekend I will show you the finished quilt top… minus the border, which hopefully I can get done if I fix my machine, or get a new one… I am so close.</p> <p>Way too close. I am working on another quilt too, but I am going to finish this one, before I finish the other! </p> <p>Now back to my vodka limeade… yeah, it was one of those kind of days. I actually missed the mailman and had to pick it up the next day at the post office. I wanted to open it the second I got in the car, but I decided to wait and take some pictures of it so I could show what I got. </p> <p>So here we go!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-1QnJ7HuiQIk/UZKRVqSSHrI/AAAAAAAADDQ/m1RBW0VJ0wY/s1600-h/IMG_2924%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2924" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2924" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-SqoZHSyEOOA/UZKRWiFJOOI/AAAAAAAADDY/WfQu3psMlRA/IMG_2924_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="373" height="258"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-IJ985d3q4GE/UZKRXXrleWI/AAAAAAAADDg/57k027NzA9Q/s1600-h/IMG_2926%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2926" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2926" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-GiKw9qKRKWk/UZKRYH1QPtI/AAAAAAAADDo/tPRqQW6UPZQ/IMG_2926_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="258"></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-x3BsEZhyiZA/UZKRZCtd6uI/AAAAAAAADDw/f_nRcc3kFjs/s1600-h/IMG_2930%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2930" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2930" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-2Tx1x_YoKug/UZKRZj2j27I/AAAAAAAADD4/-oSXr4PryNw/IMG_2930_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="258"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-jvraG-pp3Jc/UZKRaGMw6AI/AAAAAAAADEA/wOa5f3XnMtk/s1600-h/IMG_2933%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2933" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2933" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-p8p2MwBhMYQ/UZKRaoFLxiI/AAAAAAAADEI/A0CRuTbBgw4/IMG_2933_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="264"></a></p> <p>Do you see how thick that stack is?? Tail Waggers & Cat Naps, Midterm, Mr. Boy, Family Dynamix, Finally Fall, Sophisticates, Hello Beautiful, Camped Out, Spring Flings & Easter Things, Making the Team, Lovey Dovey, and Plastino. </p> <p><strong>80 sheets of paper!!</strong> I am so excited to get my UPS shipment today too! I ordered a paper cart/storage rack from Joanns.com. The worst thing about living in Hawaii is that we are so limited on selections… and what we can get costs and arm and a leg. Fingers crossed it gets here soon so I can get my craft room organized!!</p> <p>Let me know if you ordered a box and what was in it! I am excited to see if they are all the same or different. I would say most of my papers were from Sophisticates and Midterm. But overall I like what I got and would totally do it again next year! Let me know if you hear of any other Warehouse boxes, because I love a good surprise! </p> <p>Hope you have a crafty day! I am back at working on my QAL. </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-71517575212344752222013-04-25T11:18:00.000-05:002013-04-25T11:18:00.148-05:00Amy Tangerine Workshop!<p>I was lucky enough to get into the Amy Tangerine workshop at one of the Ben Franklin craft stores here in a Hawaii a couple weeks ago.</p> <p>I will admit this was my very first workshop I have ever attended. I am so glad I went! We used her new line Yes Please to make a Happy Journal. </p> <p>I wish I could say I finished the journal, but I have been super busy lately, and haven’t even had a chance to print off pictures to put in it. But I did get to meet Amy Tan!!</p> <p align="center"></p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-DK98LpIwNyA/UXX9x4PSRWI/AAAAAAAADBg/xPDLM_dhCOU/s1600-h/IMG_2711%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2711" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2711" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-5ge4qL9v6Ik/UXX9y6L40vI/AAAAAAAADBo/qhDsQ_Xc4Yk/IMG_2711_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="263" height="360"></a> <p align="center">How cute his her baby bump! I have never met a crafting “celebrity” before. I also met some new scrapbooking friends, which was so nice since most of my friends do no understand my obsession with paper. I hope I get to see them again! I really need to finish this journal soon too! I have hopes in the next upcoming weeks to do so. I just need to get settled a little more, and hope I can share with you the finished project very soon! </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-12194502155030142682013-04-23T01:01:00.000-05:002013-04-23T01:01:00.434-05:00Last Art Glitter Design Team Post!<p>So today is my last post being on the Art Glitter Design Team. In no means does that mean I will stop using glitter, because it is a part of my life. Today I wanted to share a story on why glitter is so important to me, you will see that after my quick little post. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-rg4-dcKxNaE/UXX54L_z3cI/AAAAAAAAC_o/FIv5ETjaj7A/s1600-h/IMG_2756%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2756" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2756" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-T_dRzrSQxG4/UXX545ZMOII/AAAAAAAAC_w/kk7v51BPmDE/IMG_2756_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="385" height="464"></a></p> <p>Just a quick overview. I used the double glitter technique. I have also used this <a href="http://www.dreamweaverstencils.com/lj_stencils/pages/page_33.html">Dreamweavers stencil</a> before too! To learn how to do this technique, check out <a href="http://oneheartscrapper.blogspot.com/2012/09/double-glitter-trees.html">THIS</a> post. The only thing I changed was the colors of Art Glitter. Here are some pictures of the process.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-XyA3Md7MKvM/UXX55hx_X9I/AAAAAAAAC_4/w1Lg8EgAl24/s1600-h/IMG_2725%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2725" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2725" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-XjGaGzkqIjE/UXX56HZqlRI/AAAAAAAADAA/reuwWmpJ7_4/IMG_2725_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="396" height="274"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ta4mkkds4tM/UXX57RIYWII/AAAAAAAADAI/vqXG0GmLXLQ/s1600-h/IMG_2729%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2729" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2729" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-BhnkBMlINBM/UXX576lz6II/AAAAAAAADAQ/uvGJHkL1a9Y/IMG_2729_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="400" height="425"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ESffFbDigAM/UXX59h1XbzI/AAAAAAAADAY/BfOfEgUB8lo/s1600-h/IMG_2733%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2733" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2733" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-tQQKyGRWfms/UXX5-VClZFI/AAAAAAAADAg/6e9l-o7ZAhg/IMG_2733_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="403" height="313"></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-6KCkzZ5fb7I/UXX5_9lL8wI/AAAAAAAADAo/jhApDExD4qE/s1600-h/IMG_2739%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2739" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2739" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-BPGFudWXNyg/UXX6Aa9f9NI/AAAAAAAADAw/VvLyuUJx4yM/IMG_2739_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="402" height="407"></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-4WxpTlsc990/UXX6BvbrbBI/AAAAAAAADA4/YhNxUbdxbmE/s1600-h/IMG_2746%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2746" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2746" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-bbImIEYjRBw/UXX6CcpzVLI/AAAAAAAADBA/EE_4tbj-OG4/IMG_2746_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="380" height="490"></a></p> <p>I of course peeled it off of the stencil and added another color glitter over the top to get the final look! Winter was about start, and we had all got back from Thanksgiving break. Finals were coming up and we were all excited about where the new year was going to take us. </em></p> <p><em>I was in a sorority, and there was about 60 of us in the house, and we were all super close. One day in particular plays over and over in my head. </em></p> <p><em>One night, one of our sisters passed away in a hit and run car accident. She was walking. I want to spare any details about the situation, but it is a day I will never forget, it was just so very sad.</em></p> <p><em>I had so many great memories with her. I had recently taken her back to Minnesota to catch the train over Thanksgiving break to visit her sister. She was such an amazing woman. She was beautiful and had the kindest heart. She was smart, part of a loving family, and always giving back to the community. </em></p> <p><em>I will never forget walking outside later that day, because it was the first snow of the season. As a sorority girl, we used glitter in everything we could. Something magical was happening though. The snow looked like glitter, and at that second, we all knew that out dear friend was in Heaven, sprinkling glitter down on all of us. It was very moving. To this day every time I see glitter snow, I know she is there looking down on me. And glitter is so near and dear to my heart because of it. </em></p> <p><strong>I want to thank everyone at </strong><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/index.html"><strong>Art Glitter</strong></a><strong> for this amazing opportunity to be on their design team.</strong> I will not be returning this year, since we just moved, and we really want to get settled in Hawaii (and enjoy our pool in our back yard). I will not stop using glitter. I will be experimenting with some new hobbies, and I hope you all continue to take this crafting journey with me! I look forward to seeing what the new design team will be sharing with us!</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-24734014905790579702013-04-18T23:45:00.001-05:002013-04-18T23:45:19.154-05:00Quilt Along Update<p align="center">So I am actually on track with the <a href="http://www.quiltinglodgeblog.com/p/texas-teardrops-quilt-along.html">Texas Teardrop quilt along</a>, and I am super excited about it! Finally and I have been super busy getting the house together. Technically it a little after 8am here in Hawaii. So not too bad!<br></p> <p>Now on to my project! I thought I would show you the simple method on how to glitter your nails. I don’t have long gorgeous thick nails, so please bare with the pictures. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Puhb5U_ShrM/UWRgCLTVN0I/AAAAAAAAC6M/ws0qkD2esis/s1600-h/DSC02583%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02583" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC02583" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-UOxEjHTqJPY/UWRgDATX-tI/AAAAAAAAC6U/CvWSPDmAyyA/DSC02583_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="456" height="241"></a></p> <p>Products used:</p> <p><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rmfo.htm">Art Glitter #525 Brocade in Microfine Opaque</a></p> <p>Clear Nail Polish, I prefer a kind that is super glossy.</p> <p>Small Paintbrush</p> <p> </p> <p>I started by painting a thin layer of polish on to the nail. Then dunked my nail into the pot of Art glitter. I let it dry completely. <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
I am very excited to say that I am hopefully going to be making my first real quilt soon! I signed up for the <a href="http://www.quiltinglodgeblog.com/p/texas-teardrops-quilt-along.html">Texas Teardrops Quilt Along</a>! Hopefully this will keep my on track. I already know how to sew and have a good basic understanding of how to quilt, so I am hoping this won't be too difficult! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="Quilting-Lodge-button" style="margin: 0 auto; width: 125px;">
<a href="http://www.quiltinglodgeblog.com/p/texas-teardrops-quilt-along.html">
<img alt="Quilting Lodge" height="125" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5gIivD1WMYOft_46kry4JofK6voR1SfjAe_XlfFkY5beix8OMqztwR06qOvjYD2Z37XoVqDNCpt0yle0H_WM9HKie_MvhphpYZFQJ-hv9ncVlxZqCvaqSSN9vHmVPiTcn6ZDgtlUcn11X/s1600/TXTeardrop.jpg" width="125" />
</a>
</div>
<br />
It will be so much fun! I thought I would also update you all on my Hawaiian quilted pillow!<br />
<br />
So, the last time you saw it, it was just being cut and laying it out to baste it to the backing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmppooyTkotbvIkOgqkfxUtBYA7FoTyYeH3f_3jrmNPGibkrxIkDA0V9NNR4VJTir0NiydIyuT7jfy65HO9b5AwKFzFwlcwIvb6iSOZk8Xh-0gsiUM-0neklA8-K9xcZp94ZG27Dn5raiv/s1600/photo(41).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmppooyTkotbvIkOgqkfxUtBYA7FoTyYeH3f_3jrmNPGibkrxIkDA0V9NNR4VJTir0NiydIyuT7jfy65HO9b5AwKFzFwlcwIvb6iSOZk8Xh-0gsiUM-0neklA8-K9xcZp94ZG27Dn5raiv/s400/photo(41).JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I hand appliqued the pattern onto the backing. Here you can see the stitches on the back side of the fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC1yBsztD0pmtx4D4sy69MRRMeY322_MWoNfJdCmSDVBqGy4flx6pJt7nCDTeHNB5h96g_2106wiZF61diMMjenq9ELbbCERK24X-MSyG4TNRI3a8KjXK1IEOAgAw5TGZ1uU41YdBZTQKv/s1600/photo(44).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC1yBsztD0pmtx4D4sy69MRRMeY322_MWoNfJdCmSDVBqGy4flx6pJt7nCDTeHNB5h96g_2106wiZF61diMMjenq9ELbbCERK24X-MSyG4TNRI3a8KjXK1IEOAgAw5TGZ1uU41YdBZTQKv/s400/photo(44).JPG" width="400" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_m6qs_a8TjuedwbNvt9cThXPJA4CoBcpjV1gIsTZneY1tAKpCZ1UUEOcsYwfNbe_LnKVIwhg0EINjSm2c2ICeg2uY5QX66IKVPGGDHS7MZrqRkP0FULHLmKZAAXPIPM7iKIoxigLMLIT3/s1600/photo(43).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_m6qs_a8TjuedwbNvt9cThXPJA4CoBcpjV1gIsTZneY1tAKpCZ1UUEOcsYwfNbe_LnKVIwhg0EINjSm2c2ICeg2uY5QX66IKVPGGDHS7MZrqRkP0FULHLmKZAAXPIPM7iKIoxigLMLIT3/s400/photo(43).JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
After that was finished I added the batting and the backing and basted those together to start the quilting process. Here is where I was before I went to class.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmPnWLiMyVO-haV9NJiTAuUFWM2u9ZSrsINt1ENsx6nO490RETGFxpGBU_VyuDN-2K4MRsVwVdBy9sY7PTJ2oq60PLlFTEBLuDczSRu2OnsMr_fzwzsNcy1jG96qBhbTpilU2K4xjTeqA0/s1600/photo(46).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmPnWLiMyVO-haV9NJiTAuUFWM2u9ZSrsINt1ENsx6nO490RETGFxpGBU_VyuDN-2K4MRsVwVdBy9sY7PTJ2oq60PLlFTEBLuDczSRu2OnsMr_fzwzsNcy1jG96qBhbTpilU2K4xjTeqA0/s400/photo(46).JPG" width="400" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2AeS8E-cCk1yj1Up5shm4r9-_pm4xba9ZNs5GEkTRJYS2_qJQ-qV1dKIYJPERBJfYOphmjulnhrI1CWNJJmOV01stG2he7rXPQFhaxy5rpsXkN_qynr8LWi-3DZUufGtakowwjIFml26V/s1600/photo(42).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2AeS8E-cCk1yj1Up5shm4r9-_pm4xba9ZNs5GEkTRJYS2_qJQ-qV1dKIYJPERBJfYOphmjulnhrI1CWNJJmOV01stG2he7rXPQFhaxy5rpsXkN_qynr8LWi-3DZUufGtakowwjIFml26V/s400/photo(42).JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
The other day I finished the outside quilting. Next to work on is the quilting inside the pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

I haven't yet decided on what I wanted to do for the inside. I know that hearts will be involoved. The best part is you can do whatever you want. This pattern is called Ginger. It is based off of the Torch Ginger plant. So I will be adding some fun detail to show off that plant.<br />
<br />
I hope you all enjoyed my update. Hold on tight for the next quilting project. Fingers crossed that I can make it happen!<br />

So, I wasn’t in the mood to do the whole hard boil the egg thing. </p> <p>Instead, I glittered plastic ones!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-K4ywqqOAmEE/UVFOPo9YCUI/AAAAAAAAC10/EXRbCmQwE8g/s1600-h/DSC02695%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02695" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02695" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-A9F2pfBH4eU/UVFOQAuD6AI/AAAAAAAAC18/YVmOwQtYNOA/DSC02695_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="442" height="240"></a></p> <p>To tell you the truth, I had an AWESOME idea… but I couldn’t find CLEAR plastic eggs. If anyone knows where I could get some of those, please let me know. I will have to save that project for next year. </p> <p>Now on with the step by steps:</p> <p>Products Used:</p> <p>Art Glitter on the small eggs in: <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rufneon.htm">#225 Shocking Pink Neon, #365 Caution Neon, #222 Electric Light</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoblu.htm">#233 Blue Hawaii Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoyel.htm">#361 Cat Eyes Ultrafine Opaque</a> On the Big Egg: <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Rartglitter.html#UTransparent">#289 Pompeii Ultrafine Transparent, #212 Blue Whale Ultrafine Transparent, #312 Fresh Green Ultrafine Transparent, #103 Jonquil Ultrafine Transparent, #205 Berry Pie Ultrafine Transparent, #360 Pretty Pink Ultrafine Transparent, and #85 Crystal Ultrafine Transparent.</a> </p> <p><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">Designer Dries Clear Adhesive</a></p> <p>Plastic Eggs (or real ones – just don’t plan on eating them after)</p> <p>Paintbrush</p> <p>Painters Tape</p> <p>When I went to the store, I only a had few choices on eggs. They didn’t sell much at the craft store so I was stuck with the grocery store options. So I purchased the giant clear egg with 30 eggs in it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-SieJ3r42KlU/UVFOQzCVTHI/AAAAAAAAC2E/ABVSmgg9wy0/s1600-h/DSC02652%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02652" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02652" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-iyjNzQLfxDI/UVFORTtDmyI/AAAAAAAAC2M/TCyT_rQC5Mg/DSC02652_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="432" height="270"></a></p> <p>I start by taking one half of the giant egg (I took the top) and sectioned out the areas with Washi tape. I recommend using Painters tape, because washi tape did not cut it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-5hY9qsgBY2I/UVFOSCESsuI/AAAAAAAAC2U/Qep76zUExvo/s1600-h/DSC02662%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02662" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02662" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-kDqbtzfKPiI/UVFOSsQcY2I/AAAAAAAAC2c/pqBXIr7ujpY/DSC02662_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="453" height="276"></a></p> <p>I then went one color at a time using ALL transparent glitters. Now the tricky part. Brushing <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">adhesive</a> on to plastic. I like to use a lot of adhesive when doing this. Also letting a layer dry, and then adding another layer, otherwise you get a lot of glue separation. But you can fix that later if need be. I will explain it when I do the little eggs. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-nDNGNkGwfE0/UVFOTWRX7aI/AAAAAAAAC2k/o9nt-jkbLgA/s1600-h/DSC02663%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02663" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02663" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-RZX_7-FFOus/UVFOTifCEAI/AAAAAAAAC2s/xihe4XDAydk/DSC02663_thumb%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="334" height="216"></a></p> <p>Ok, so you added all the glitter, now let it dry. </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-xk5cW9MiKNU/UVFOUuoEopI/AAAAAAAAC20/pun5CofJCO8/s1600-h/DSC02664%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02664" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02664" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-FFo-Km_OmSA/UVFOVI_gVeI/AAAAAAAAC28/RQ2PysEOXhw/DSC02664_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="438" height="275"></a>Then peel off the tape. With the washi the adhesive started to peel up. I am hoping with painters tape it will be more precise. </p> <p>Now onto the little eggs. I did the same thing, but I opened up the eggs. I tried doing some cool things to it, like dripping glue and swirls, but I am not that talented, and I just loved the “full” glitter look. What can I say. Also, don’t forget to do your “golden” egg. Even though as a kid I don’t recall having a golden egg. We were excited to get pennies in the late 80’s early 90’s.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-hu9LvS_yDAY/UVFOV0I838I/AAAAAAAAC3E/C1B0QH48EhE/s1600-h/DSC02660%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02660" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02660" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-GA-cbGzFoFo/UVFOWWLP81I/AAAAAAAAC3M/wEEpm5A_hQg/DSC02660_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="261" height="225"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-pZvP3-jMW9M/UVFOXG1VdvI/AAAAAAAAC3U/xQzXfg2C-JE/s1600-h/DSC02694%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02694" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02694" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-AAOK9o0Zfus/UVFOXuQgWyI/AAAAAAAAC3c/3cLCeQhnpqY/DSC02694_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="366" height="233"></a></p> <p>If the <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">adhesive</a> separates, after you had added the glitter, dab adhesive onto the open spots, the glitter will help keep the adhesive in tact. Then add more glitter. (which add more glitter is a great option… ALWAYS)</p> <p>Anyways. I like to ramble, so back to the finished product. Adding some Easter Grass, I complete the egg in the basket look, and 100% glitter fantastic. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-GyVJzccIfA8/UVFOYcIqD0I/AAAAAAAAC3k/C9ffMZ4hX5g/s1600-h/DSC02696%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02696" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="DSC02696" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-OINUqGFs_Go/UVFOY93FWVI/AAAAAAAAC3s/v8KsTUPq4Ns/DSC02696_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="445" height="217"></a></p> <p>Now if you didn’t see the <a href="http://artglitterblog.blogspot.com/2013/03/bunny-fun.html">Art Glitter Blog on Saturday</a> (where my post was), be sure to check it out today, otherwise, I know there will be something awesome posted on the <a href="http://artglitterblog.blogspot.com/">Art Glitter Blog</a> today as well! </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-54431502579196776262013-03-21T20:08:00.000-05:002013-03-21T20:08:09.193-05:00Art Glitter Design Team LAST CALL!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

Then it will take at least a week to get my house together before my husband will let me start to play, so a hand sewing class I thought would be a perfect way to start. </p> <p>The colors aren’t exactly as I had hoped they would show up in pictures, but here is my cut out “snowflake” pattern. It is called Ginger. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-OQThF96YvKM/UUDsSBK5UeI/AAAAAAAAC08/JzHpCXQLJHY/s1600-h/photo%25252838%252529%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="photo(38)" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="photo(38)" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-3aYaZc4boFQ/UUDsTBI-m1I/AAAAAAAAC1E/MG0d7XFEXJ4/photo%25252838%252529_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="313" height="343"></a></p> <p>We were to come to class, and not take out the pins yet. I am showing it on my background color which is gray. I chose two different blues, but this is what my husband picked. Which was my first choice too, but he said it was more Hawaiian in color, and I would have to agree. </p> <p>Once we got to class we got to open it up! Then we pinned it to the back fabric, and then basted it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-NN2enjaDUs0/UUDsT9bwopI/AAAAAAAAC1M/5C6YOqqFn7c/s1600-h/photo%25252841%252529%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="photo(41)" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="photo(41)" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-KmYmSx15axc/UUDsUTN0FII/AAAAAAAAC1U/s48x531QnFc/photo%25252841%252529_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="446" height="293"></a></p> <p>I love how it looks!! Unfortunately my edges keep fraying. I want to blame that on my scissors I bought. Because my fabric is Kona, and thought that was good fabric. They were sold out of the brand of scissors I wanted, and out here, we do not have many choices. I might have to buy a new pair online. </p> <p>Now my homework is to hand applique the pattern to the back. I will tell you that I have learned several new tricks to tying knots, what basting even was, and how to do the invisible applique stitch! Well at least that is what I am going to call them! </p> <p>I will definitely update you with my progress. My next class is Tuesday, so I will have to have to entire top appliqued to the backing by then. For a beginner, she said this may take 10 hours… which probably means I should start now! Cause I am sure it might take me longer. </p> <p>I will update you some time this week or next before I head off to class! </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-57942255500493545072013-03-12T00:52:00.000-05:002013-03-12T00:54:55.191-05:00Glitter Tattoo!<p>Did you see that Art Glitter came out with <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">Body Glue</a>!?! I couldn’t wait to get my hand on it and see what it was all about! </p> <p><em>If you came by to see what I was quilting, I should have an update later this week on the status of my Hawaiian Quilted Pillow, but on with the glitter!</em></p> <p>I ordered a couple <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtattoos.htm">stencils</a>, including a cherry stencil, but I know I could probably cut out anything I want out of vinyl on my Cricut. Below are the supplies used.</p> <p>Supplies:</p> <p><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">Art Glitter’s Body Glue</a> (that is <strong>on sale</strong> until March 25th!)</p> <p><strong>Art Glitter</strong> in <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruogrn.htm">#280 Lime Rind Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rultfopaholo.htm">#333 Red Zone Opaque Hologram</a></p> <p>Paintbrush</p> <p><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtattoos.htm">Stencil</a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-gwjnkWoWP14/UT7DGydG7WI/AAAAAAAACz0/IVs0piX58ZM/s1600-h/IMG_2862%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2862" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2862" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-tituC582SxU/UT7DHQ4ECsI/AAAAAAAACz8/3RnC7Z6odQ4/IMG_2862_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="292" height="429"></a></p> <p>I strayed slightly from the directions that they gave me, because I wanted to make sure my colors didn’t blend. But I started with cleaning my hand and putting the <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtattoos.htm">stencil</a> where I wanted the glittered tattoo. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-rbY_9XQFInw/UT7DIEIcyiI/AAAAAAAAC0E/FDuPRGOpigA/s1600-h/IMG_2865%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2865" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2865" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nqflVl4fQCU/UT7DIXV07BI/AAAAAAAAC0M/a1-UChhTUNY/IMG_2865_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="376" height="320"></a></p> <p>I brushed on the <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">body glue</a> on where I wanted to put my <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruogrn.htm">first color</a>. Then sprinkled on the glitter and dusted it off. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-HXZMtRHBTzE/UT7DJInyPWI/AAAAAAAAC0U/sQ2g-aufs6s/s1600-h/IMG_2875%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2875" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2875" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-A9aQDqCJ18E/UT7DKOMlKqI/AAAAAAAAC0c/NLowth4aBAE/IMG_2875_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="356" height="346"></a></p> <p>I added <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">body glue</a> to the next part, added the <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rultfopaholo.htm">glitter</a>, dusted it off then removed the <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtattoos.htm">stencil</a>… slowly. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ADB7o6XCZV8/UT7DK183SKI/AAAAAAAAC0k/7BgDk_AAQts/s1600-h/IMG_2886%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_2886" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="IMG_2886" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-rDmbX4eR55k/UT7DLTAjRtI/AAAAAAAAC0s/jVvcA0i4rTg/IMG_2886_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="359" height="350"></a></p> <p>And there you have it a <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtattoos.htm">glittered tattoo</a>! I am not going to lie, the kids I know LOVE it! My friends son even tried to smell it yesterday, granted he is only two, so it is ok. I have had it on for almost a week and it is still going strong. About an hour after I put it on, I even showered. – Still sparkly!! </p> <p>Well I hope you love this, I can’t wait to make one for St. Patrick’s Day! (Not cherries, but I will give it a shot at a shamrock for sure!)</p> <p>Be sure to stop by the <a href="http://artglitterblog.blogspot.com/">Art Glitter Blog</a> for another fun glittery project! </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> <p>and glitter on!</p> <p>ps. Sorry for my pictures not being the greatest, my camera died. It was so sad, the last picture on my post is literally the last picture my Rebel Xsi took… but in much happier news, I got a new Rebel T4i! I’ll post about that later!</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-78623820212190462252013-03-02T09:00:00.000-06:002013-03-02T09:00:03.180-06:00Glitter Galore!<p>I love glitter!</p> <p>Here is a photo of my current collection, missing a couple of containers. They are kind of sorted, but my next step is how do I store these so I can see all the beautiful colors? </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-u0SReaRf_w4/USw3HTsqI8I/AAAAAAAACwU/WZxBK50h4IY/s1600-h/DSC02630%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC02630" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC02630" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Fq7U3c4HwwA/USw3HgrPjMI/AAAAAAAACwc/cPH94Nv4opo/DSC02630_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="455" height="156"></a></p> <p>Any suggestions?? I am currently trying to figure out my crafting space in the new house… oh yeah, new house! We found a place to live in Hawaii!! YEAH!! One big stressor off my back. I would really love to get a <a href="http://www.theoriginalscrapbox.com/products/scrapboxes.html">Scrapbox</a>, but the shipping to Hawaii is like $200 extra dollars! And they are expensive in the first place. But it would solve my problem of where to put my craft space EVERYTIME we move. But I don’t really know. I was also thinking of using some sort of shelving since I have tons on paper, and a cricut, and bunch of cartridges. I also have a sewing machine and my fabric collection is growing at a pretty fast rate. Unfortunately I have no room to dedicate to this, and my husband says I can use the dining room table. </p> <p>Yeah that is at least 75 different colors of glitter… and of course, I still want more! I’m obsessed. It’s official. </p> <p>peace.love.dove.</p> Cheriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01216695031435957962noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4488926799199756189.post-39898561973452613522013-02-26T00:00:00.000-06:002013-02-26T00:00:10.151-06:00Glittered Waves<p>Today’s project is an inspired art piece. Being out in Hawaii, I am finding some amazing artists. One of the artists I love is <a href="http://www.heatherbrownart.com/">Heather Brown</a>. She has some amazing pieces and I encourage you to visit her site to see a bit of her style. </p> <p>But onto my project. Here is what I created. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-FmkcHjoIk0c/USwwwOxMzVI/AAAAAAAACs8/TJOCX-pmsHs/s1600-h/art2%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="art2" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art2" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-bq9x8tWzt6Q/USwww-aX32I/AAAAAAAACtE/KrACHGM22gY/art2_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="446" height="373"></a></p> <p>Products used:</p> <p><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoaqua.htm">#36 Marine Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rultfopaholo.htm">#121 Mermaid Ultrafine Opaque Hologram</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoblu.htm">#27 Navy Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/rultfopaholo.htm">#329 Egyptian Blue Ultrafine Opaque Hologram</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruopkprp.htm">#140 Canadian Blue Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoblu.htm">#30 Royale Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoaqua.htm">#285 South Seas Ultrafine Opaque</a>, <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/glitterpages/ruoneu.htm">#83 Silver Ultrafine Opaque</a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-rwoyjM_V2vE/USwwxTzdgiI/AAAAAAAACtM/xwI3Sr6iaOw/s1600-h/art1%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="art1" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art1" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-B6MFDICogeM/USwwx9L2MvI/AAAAAAAACtU/-eGDq5FvvnU/art1_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="465" height="93"></a></p> <p><a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">Designer Dries Clear Adhesive</a></p> <p>Paintbrushes, Permanent Marker, Black Acrylic Paint, Canvas, Canvas Frame. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-bMydp3OwvRM/USwwycijUuI/AAAAAAAACtc/5_eiBNQIPAQ/s1600-h/art3%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="art3" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art3" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-M51OEzmPcP0/USwwyhuArhI/AAAAAAAACtk/0r3zLc7qMK4/art3_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="155" height="244"></a></p> <p>I started with a blank Canvas. Basically a paint by number of <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm">Designer Dries Clear</a> and <a href="http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Rartglitter.html">Art Glitter</a> in each of the sections. I wanted it to look like water so I used all sorts of blue colors of glitter. Some were light, and some were dark. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-LkRjmkH8aMU/USww1an_opI/AAAAAAAACuM/lfg5hd1sYWk/s1600-h/art5%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="art5" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art5" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-gFRPk9EW-ro/USww13k-SVI/AAAAAAAACuU/hr7e3B844ew/art5_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="461" height="199"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/--ktizHGVA44/USww2-wBpBI/AAAAAAAACuc/dr112Rcfw40/s1600-h/art6%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="art6" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art6" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-y8buiGNeYhQ/USww3VFIuRI/AAAAAAAACuk/1z4nXIk5HHY/art6_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="462" height="287"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ScJpLS6-1n0/USww4k6CJMI/AAAAAAAACus/_aXbOfVRgcU/s1600-h/art7%25255B1%25255D%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="art7" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art7" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-lRIuT0qaDkc/USww5L65RDI/AAAAAAAACu0/UPwFt0g8jUw/art7%25255B1%25255D_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="464" height="362"></a></p> <p>You can click on the “Colors of Glitter” photo to see it larger. After it was dry, I trimmed the edge with Silver glitter. </p> <p>Then I used black acrylic paint, and went over the lines of where the marker used to be to get a clean, clear, crisp black line. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-0TKPyE353LQ/USww5zdjSqI/AAAAAAAACu8/lKAaD7JCoP8/s1600-h/photo%25252824%252529%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="photo(24)" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="photo(24)" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-UKjq1Bcx2eQ/USww6UrQfjI/AAAAAAAACvE/fcYTYqlLJDs/photo%25252824%252529_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="313" height="431"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Ju4bEfgchqs/USww7qPhX5I/AAAAAAAACvM/fYrmwXes8l8/s1600-h/photo%25252825%252529%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img title="photo(25)" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="photo(25)" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-zPYUkxNJh2M/USww8CGaRkI/AAAAAAAACvU/fc2k16HjDJM/photo%25252825%252529_thumb%25255B11%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="441" height="339"></a></p> <p>I love that the glitter picks up the light, and doesn’t at the same time, it works much like the ocean itself. It changes color with the sun and clouds. As you can tell in this photo, where you can see my shadow.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-WAH5aGwHia8/USww9ICv75I/AAAAAAAACvc/c-0EArjF5Lw/s1600-h/art8%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="art8" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art8" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-S-c4sWhZgyo/USww9u_ZsbI/AAAAAAAACvk/kOu4GKgkmDQ/art8_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="443" height="385"></a></p> <p>I put it in the canvas frame that I purchased when I bought the canvas, it was right next to them in aisle, and I picked out the size, based on the frame alone. It is great that I can velcro the canvas right into the frame!</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Zoscm6V00Hk/USww-pXGGFI/AAAAAAAACvs/8_D2q43vyYw/s1600-h/art2%25255B13%25255D.jpg"><img title="art2" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="art2" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Rl_uAVuUxVU/USww_SkOO-I/AAAAAAAACv0/-rzr9H-3HZE/art2_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="446" height="385"></a></p> <p>Now be sure to stop by the <a href="http://artglitterblog.blogspot.com/">Art Glitter Blog</a> where I have another glittery project to share! I promise it to be sparkly, but yet slightly subtle. It is pure awesomeness!
