Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my favorite holiday. Yes, my favorite. I love my birthday a lot. I don’t know what it is. Maybe its summer, being at the cabin. Something. But I sure have had some birthdays to remember.

My 5th birthday was spent in Grand Junction Colorado. My grandparents used to live there.

My 6th birthday, I had a pony come to my house. I also remember that I got Barbie rollerskates!

My 9th/10th birthday, I had a slumber party. We all tye dyed shirts and stayed up ALL night!

Most of my teen years were spent up in Northern Minnesota. We rented a cabin for a week, and well, it always fell on the week of my birthday. But I always had fun with my crazy family and their friends.

My 16th birthday I got my drivers license. yep that day. and my parents rented out a park and I celebrated with several friends. It was Blues Clues themed. I was a huge dork.

My 21st birthday I was in ITALY! I was doing an internship over there (and of course the legal drinking age in Italy is 16). But, I had a great party with the people I was there with.

My 24th birthday was celebrated in Disney World. It was technically our weekend honeymoon a month late, and my birthday wrapped up into one. It was fun though!

Last year (my 26th) was the worst birthday ever. I love my birthday like mentioned before. But this was terrible. My husband was out of town in Hawaii for work of all places. I couldn’t go because I didn’t have any more time off work, since we were going to Alaska a month later. So I was home alone. To top it off, my grandma passed away the Friday before. So her funeral was scheduled for Tuesday (my birthday). My husband is in the military, so I am 1,748 miles away from home, and like mentioned before I didn’t have time to take off work, and plane tickets are ridiculous in the middle of summer.  Luckily I have nice friends near by that made sure I wasn’t sitting alone at home. But such a sad birthday.

Now this year. What I am I doing today on my birthday?!? I am in SWITZERLAND!! With the woman that brought me into the world. My mom. She is the best mom in the world. Which is why I am lucky to have her taking me to EUROPE of all places! Who knows what we are doing (hopefully not causing too much trouble)!

So I am sure this will be another memorable birthday in my books.

Amsterdam

Quick update sine I have internet for a couple more minutes!

I am in Amsterdam, still tired from the past few days, but having a blast!

Tomorrow will be busy!

Oh I would love to post tomorrow, but I am sure I will be super busy. Today, my phone died… and I hardly used it. It must be all the shutdowns in MN… haha. Ok that was a joke, but I was slightly annoyed when trying to find out about the MN drivers license and the website was shut down because of whatever is going on out here.. which I don’t really watch the news, so I don’t know…

Anyways, my cousin asked me today to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, and I am over joyed! (She was my MOH). She has two sisters, and I had none growing up so she is the the closest thing to a blood related sister I could get (I am two weeks older, our mom’s are sisters, and we lived about 5 miles away from each other as kids)!

Well, off to Europe tomorrow!! Woo Hoo!! I have entered some giveaways online not knowing when they end, so if anyone sees my name floating around winning anything can you please email my husband, and send him to the blog so he can read it and give them my info. I told him to check my email, and he has no idea how to read my blogs… (and I will be gone for about 2 weeks!) His email address is:

Thank you to all of you that comment on my blog! I love reading the kind things that you say. I don’t always have time to write back, but I want you to know that I read them. I can’t wait to see what everyone is up to once I get back, and I can’t wait to share my trip with you!! I promise I will take LOTS of pictures! I will be visiting SIX countries, and I want to get a geocache in each one! How cool would that be!

I am super tired, I had a really long day so I am going to try and get some sleep (if I can, it is so warm here… and warm compared to Washington weather where I would still be wearing a fleece most of the day)!

Travel time!

Well I am off! Headed to the Midwest to see some family and friends before I head to Europe with my mom for a couple weeks!

Joe’s 1st Birthday

My friends son turned ONE of Friday!

Which, I can not believe how fast kids grow! I left the hospital about a half an hour before she gave birth to him but I did meet him the next day. Last night they had his 1st party for him. We had a good time. I actually had time to make a card… but of course I slipped it in the envelope, sealed it, and said, “ah man! I forgot to take a picture”. So we stayed around so I could document what I thought was cleverness of the card.

I dorkily put a kangaroo on it, because we call him Joey! I thought I was pretty funny, and my friend loved it!! The paper I used is SEI from their playtime collection, or something like that, and cut Happy Birthday from Sweet Treats.

The inside of my cards are always boring… because I like to write personal messages. I didn’t get him a gift yet, since I am headed to Europe in… 4 days! Ek!! I should start packing… Anywho, I hope to find some cool European toy! I have a lot of country choices while I am there… and if the toy talks… EVEN BETTER!!!

Well, this may be my last post before I head out. MN bound on Tuesday to see the family, and then 2 weeks in Europe with my Mom! A long weekend at the cabin after that, and then another week with friends in MN, including a Twins Game, a Wedding, and going with my Cousin (who was my MOH), to see her in her wedding dress!! So much going on, and I could not be more than happy!

Busiest week ever.

Oh, I have been overbooked.

I took a trip to Oregon with a few friends. We had a great time. We drove the Oregon coast, visited some pretty interesting sights, got some geocaches, and even visited the geocache headquarters. I mean, it was a non stop trip, but super fun! Well I got home Friday night at about 6:30pm. I made dinner and less than an hour later my in-laws arrived at my house to spend the 4th of July weekend with us.

They left this morning.

So, I am tired. In one week, I am also headed back to the midwest. I will be leaving in 8 days now to go to Europe with my Mom for about 2 weeks. Then up to the cabin for a long weekend, and a week in MN with friends and family, before I head back to the Pacific NW…. which means, I will be MIA for a MONTH! For this reason alone, I have held off applying for any Design Teams (which is a goal of mine to do this year).

Anyways… life has been crazy. I did bust out the glitter on July 4th, and have been keeping up reading blogs. I look at every single one… which makes me afraid to be gone from the internet for 3 weeks! Imagine how much I will be missing out on!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. I might post a few times between now and when I leave. I was also going to post some pictures, but my hard drive does not like me right now… grr…
