Wedding Table Numbers

It has been catch up for me this week. I spent yesterday with my aunt. We made the table numbers for my cousin's wedding in May. We used Opposites Attract Cricut Cartridge for the numbers. The glitter paper is from Michaels. We mounted it on black paper. I hope you enjoy!

Letterpress Valentine

I am going to a tea in February. Yep, tea. I am not sure how much I share about my tea experiences with you all so I thought I would give you a little inside to another dorky thing that I do.

My mom and bunch of her friends have a tea group. They did this LONG before the red hatters, and at one point they joined… now they are just tea goers. I have met some pretty awesome women in this group. They are from all over; friends of friends, relatives, you name it. I think there are about 20 something in our group. I am of course the youngest. But I really enjoy going.

Being that I am back in Minnesota, I am able to go to teas again. Our valentine’s tea is coming up  and we had to make a valentine to exchange. I thought I would make one sooner than later so I wasn’t so rushed.

Again, I used my letterpress… the new love of my life.

I added some glam rocks and ribbon. The way the light is hitting this card helps so the feel of the paper. Check out this next close up.

It feels so good. I love this paper!! I used the Posy Printing Plates from Lifestyle Crafts on this card. I also used their Hot Pink ink. I could make cards all day using this. I really need to scrapbook some stuff too. I will have to figure out how to incorporate letterpress in a layout.

I also want to figure out how to use illustrator so I can create my own printing plates. Anyone take any online classes on using this program? I would love to know what my options are and if anyone has feedback of classes I should take!

Oh! Before I forget, did you see the new badge I posted on the left that says Blogging In Minnesota? Did you know you can get your own?? I want to give a shout out to Brooke from A New View 365. Super cute and you can pick one up for your state too! I even asked her if she could create one for Hawaii, where I am moving to this summer, as if I haven’t mentioned that enough, and she did! So I am super excited, and this it is so neat!

I hope you all have a great day, I am off to the gym to see my personal trainer, and then Zumba tonight!

Also, yes more alsos, I need to give a shout out to Haven’s Haven for giving me the Liebster Award. I got this award a while back and passed it on then, but I want to Thank you for giving me the award again!  I am so close to 200 I can almost taste it… I might just have to have another giveaway once I get there.

Love.

For you today I am sharing a card that made. Simple.

I used the Twigs & Sprigs Printing Plates. Just a side note. If you are interested in getting any plates. I have several of them. I am going to do a little review on the ones I like and what they all have to offer sometime later. I do love every plate set I have and all for different reasons.

Like I said I kept it simple. I used Orange ink.

Love. just one word means so many things.

IMG_0247

Love between two people. love of a color. love of life. love. There are so many things to love. You can be in love, out of love, and even love all around. It can be crazy like a love triangle, or just the love of a good book, a cup of tea, and cozy blanket.

It is not valentines day yet, but I love that time of year. I love to celebrate love all year long. I have a love hate relationship with holidays. I love to celebrate them, but sometimes when you can’t celebrate to the fullest, is when it makes it really hard to celebrate at all.

I’ll admit, I miss my husband. He has to miss some great holidays this year. It just makes me sad sometimes thinking he is not here to celebrate with me. Which in turn makes celebrating a little more depressing. I am really looking forward to this summer when I get to see him again!

He got his Christmas Present on New Years, and since I am not working it was nothing special. I need to send out his Valentines Day package soon, but I am stuck on what to send him. He is a simple guy. Techy, and OBESSED with mustaches… and yes, he has one RIGHT NOW… when he comes home, it will be gone.

Anyone have any ideas of what to send a guy who has everything? Must fit in large flat rate box, cost on the smaller size, and be thoughtful? I will take any suggestions. I have to get this out next week! Thanks!

Welcome Baby!

As always I have friends having babies. None of them are close by right now. But I think on any given day, I know someone that is pregnant. Not me though. We are still waiting for the right time for us. I’ll let you all know when that is, but being that we are moving to Hawaii… not anytime soon. I am working on my bikini body first!

Anyways. I made this card using the Petite Printing Plates from Lifestyle Crafts. I used royal blue and orange ink. I wanted it to look masculine, and not SUPER baby in color. Right away I thought… Gators colors… we did live in Florida for a short time and I had stopped down to their campus to visit my “sisters" a couple times.

IMG_0236

I love how it turned out. I am all about simplicity. I added some twine and some glam rocks to the mix.

Here is a close up of the letterpressed images.

IMG_0233

The onesies are even letterpressed but I cut them out to hang on the “line.”

I hope you enjoyed this card. Have a wonderful weekend! I am off to see my personal trainer again. She has been getting me into shape!

Jack’s Birthday Cake

My mom and I made Jack’s Birthday Cake since his party was this weekend. We bought the cake at Rainbow foods and decorated it with fondant using our Cricut Cake.

IMG_0124

The theme was Thomas the Train… because he LOVES “choo choos.” But he also loves Elmo and Cookie Monster so We combined all three.

The train is cut from Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge, Elmo is from Elmo’s Party Cartridge, and Cookie Monster is from Sesame Street Friends Cricut Cartridge.

He loved it! So that is always a bonus. Here is Jack blowing out the candles on his cake!

Letterpress: Framed

Still in love.

I found a way to combine my favorite thing with this one.

Glitter.

IMG_0088

I cut out the letters and “and” with Caligraphy printing plates from Lifestyle Crafts. I then used the flourish (from Flourish plates), and the dots from Bubly plates from them as well, to complete the look.

I love how I could use classic and contemporary at the same time. This will look great in my kitchen once we move again!

IMG_0090

Here is a close up to see the detail of the letterpress impression. This is my new obsession. I am planning in my mind all of the goodies I want to get. Still brainstorming all the ideas, but tomorrow I am going to get some more paper!

Alright. Enough for tonight. I also posted this on the Lifestyle Crafts Community Gallery.

Happy New Year With a New Toy!

Oh I am in love.

As I had hoped, I got my L Letterpress yesterday!!  I had a chance to play with it a little bit yesterday, and a little bit tonight!

Here is my first completed card I made with it.

IMG_0065

I love how it turned out! I am still trying to figure out some things, like the ratio of ink, how to place the without the pieces moving (the adhesive sheets do not like me - I need to get some double sided tape), and how I want to layout each card.

I purchased these four plate sets in addition to what the starter kit came with,

Bubbly Printing Plates

Caligraphy Printing Plates

Damask Printing Plates

Flourish Printing Plates

I love them ALL! I can’t wait to get more, or to see what they release next! I also purchased four different ink colors; royal blue, teal blue, red, and gray. It came with black.

I only have a few pieces of paper left that came with the kit, so I need to purchase some more! Good thing I live close to Archivers! I will have to swing by check out the goodies there!

Here are some close ups of the impressions. I did use this starter kit with my Cuttlebug, and it worked out great! I have had no issues yet!! Some blogs I read said it did not work with the Cuttlebug, I am not sure if it is based on what version you have of the machine, but I have the V2 edition.

IMG_0067IMG_0068

I hope you enjoyed checking out my card! The glitter paper is Recollections from Michael’s. I had to add that before I forgot! I also posted this in the Lifestyle Crafts Community Gallery.

Happy New Year to all!! Here is a picture of my girlfriends that I hung out with for New Years!
