Fussy and Fancy

I am trying to get myself out there. Taking on challenges, making things for friends and family, and hopefully making things for the holiday seasons. I one, do not own any stamps. I have not been into stamping but finding more and more certain stamps could add the right touch to what I want to express. For now, I have included three projects that I feel best represent me. Who I am and what I design.

I am a scrapper. I have made cards, and I have no issues making cards, but my love is in showing off pictures. I take a ton of pictures and am slowly working on putting albums together. To be part of a design team would encourage me to keep going. I am new housewife, and I love it. I am finding more time for me, and more time to scrap.

Third project (Which I just posted about, and haven’t sent to my friend yet – oops my bad). But I wanted to show that I can do other things than scrapbooking!

I know I have a ton of room to grow and love coming up with new ideas and ways to use things. I do like to keep things clean, simple, and always a touch of glitter! I hope that Fussy & Fancy give me a chance to be part of their Design Team.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Time for another challenge

I have been stumped on my tree and waiting for some details to be finalized before I start putting it together. So, I decided to do another challenge. I think my favorite challenges are the ones that incorporate color. I have tons of paper, but I thought I would go with my solids on this one. The challenge is PDCC55 from The Play Date Café. The challenge was to include the following colors into something crafty.

So, here is what I ended up making.

I made this for my mom. She is one of my best friends, and the colors reminded me so much of her.

The font is Cricut cartridge Alphalicious, and the flower and writing block are from Hannah Montana. It sounds totally lame, but I love the Hannah Cartridge. It has some super cute graphics (this flower above, a butterfly, guitar). I don’t think I will ever have to use the Hannah graphics, but then again, you never know!!

My pen decided to not like me when I started writing this so it is slightly sloppy. But I do like the homemade look it brings to it. I thought this challenge was fun. I do not own a single stamp (probably cause I can never make up my mind on what I would want), so I keep things simple.

Friends Birthday Present

So, I am so late on my friends birthday. I am not telling who it is, they will find out in a few days when I finally send it in the mail. But I made this totally awesome frame! I used SEI chocolat paper (my absolute favorite). I even do not like the color brown, but I love this paper. I was going to enter it in a challenge, but then realized it was a card challenge using glitter. So – now its just a added to the list of things that I have made!

Here is a pic of the overall frame. (I think I need to find a new photo area!)

Do you wanna see the glitter????

Oh how I LOVE glitter. Here is a close-up on the FRIENDS

I will add a picture and send it to my friend once it dries!

Today I also made a card for my nephew it said LUMBER JACK on it, his name is Jack. I also got him the cutest little outfit with a Lumber Jack shirt and overalls. When I get a picture of him in it, I will post it. He will be ONE in January! OMG! He is so cute!

More to come later. I am starting to make a dress for my friends wedding, I bought all the stuff I think I need for it today, so start on it tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I can do it!

Sunday Card Day - PDCC#53

So I never make cards, but I found out yesterday that one of my friends from college got engaged! So I thought it would be fun to make her a card, and do a challenge as well! The Play Date Café has a challenge Black white and burgundy. My thought process is simplistic. So I keep it simple, always add some bling! There is nothing better than glitter!

With the flash the burgundy faded out a bit, but I love how it turned out!

IMG_0729Here is a glimpse of the inside. Its just a simple white rectangle with burgundy around it.

This is the close up of the “True Love” I cut this out of my SEI Chocolat Raisen paper using Tie the Knot Cricut cartridge. The black and white patterned paper is doodlebug paper.

More to come this week… I hope!

Funday Friday

I feel like the entire world is different since I last posted. I have not worked on any personal projects, and wish that I would have taken some pictures from what I did work on. As historian for my spouses club, I created a scrapbook. It turned out beautiful. I am again in position to get another one together for this next year, and I hopefully remember to take pictures of that one!!

I am currently playing with my cricut design studio. I am still absolutely clueless to what I am doing with it. I need to make mardi gras masks (100 to be exact) for TOMORROW! I can not figure out how to reproduce the image I altered to put more on a page. I am going to do some digging to see what I can come up with.

On good news, I am a housewife now! So I should be finding more time to scrapbook. I truly have a ton to do, but I am loving every minute of it. Especially sleeping in… till 8am! That is four hours I get to sleep in!! It really makes a world of a difference. Soon, I hope my husband will like that I am a housewife. It sure has been some getting used to, but I am much happier!

So in hopes that I post all the fun crafty things I will be making for the holidays, and scrapbook pages I will be making anywhere from college to present life. I hope that I learn some thing down the road, and can share my struggles of paper and glue (which is a love hate relationship), and hopefully show someone out there that if you add a little glitter, it can make the whole world smile.

My first Challenge!

Since I am still fairly new at this I thought it would be nice to give myself a challenge. (Not that I have much free time on my hands, but it made it more fun knowing what I was actually going to do). I guess I also finished a page in my CURRENT life scrapbook, still to be purchased somewhere, but one page down.

This is from Challenge #30 on Cricutters Anonymous, make a woman themed project on your Cricut. What is more woman themed than a girls night! And this DCWV  all about girls stack that I just LOVE!! I guess it was a girls night because we had TWO birthday girls and we made the guys drive us!

So what cartridges did I use??
Don Juan, Designers Calender, Forever Young, and Storybook.

This was fun! I feel like I have accomplished something. Now lets get cracking on the real stuff I need to get done.

Here we go.

Three months into this I can FINALLY make something! I have started my scrapbook for college. Well, I think it is mostly going to be for my sorority. I made the title page. Here it is. Our colors are lavender and maroon so I chose to go with the lavender. I also used the cricut cartridge Storybook. I waited almost a month and half just to get this cartridge. It was on back order, but at least I got a good deal! I put Tulip glitter paint dots in sliver on the ends of each of the letters. I used DCVW Latte stack.

Once I finished this I started on my next page. I went through an album and found pictures from our house formal in 2004. I only had 4 pictures that looked decent. Bummer that I didn't have a digital camera back then, I would have had like a million pictures from that night. But life goes on. I bet I probably had a few more, but I am sure I threw them away cause there were pictures of my ex in them. The formal page I used the Hannah Montana Cartridge for the font, and I also cut out the rose from the cartridge as well. I used the DCWV La Creme stack for the paper.

So for now this is what I have. I guess I will try to get some more done later this week or next weekend! Two pages down, like one hundred left to go!
