Take Your Breath Away

A month ago my husband and I were driving over Deception Pass. It was a beautiful day, so we stopped. I took this picture of my husband as he was enjoying the view. I can’t believe this is what the weather was like in DECEMBER in Washington!

I wanted to keep this page simple. I used the Stamped Cricut Cartridge for the font. The paper is SEI Bridgeport, and I used my i-rock on the studs. Have a great week!

Moxie Fab Jewel Tones

So I decided to challenge myself. I am not a card maker, but I needed to make a card for my nephew's birthday. I also found a challenge that I thought the colors would be great for a 4th grade boy... ok, I think he is in fourth grade. Anyways is if for Moxie Fab World Jewel Tone Challenge.
Here are the color combinations.

Here is what I came up with.

Hope you enjoyed! Now I have to get it in the mail ASAP! I used DCWV shimmer paper for the purple, yellow, and neutral. The blue was a leftover scrap that I got while I was at Archiver's a few years ago. I am not certain on the brand. I used Beyond Birthdays Cricut Cartridge for the "Happy Birthday", and Indie Art for the guitar. I also used my i-rock and studded the border. My NEW Cuttlebug was used with the diamond plate for the embossing.

A challenge, another layout, and a giveaway.

So I would LOVE to have more followers, but I am not sure how everyone gets so many people. So, I thought maybe if I did what I said, and try some challenges, then maybe I could draw more views. So, I decided to do a challenge from Fantabulous Cricut. It is FCCB #44, Neglected Cartridge. So I had to pick a cartridge I hadn’t used in 6 months. I chose Forever Young. I do love the cartridge and made a bunch of cutout girls about  a year ago to send to my sorority, but they I got lost in a million things, so I thought I would try it with a layout. Here is what I came up with.

I got a little glitter happy. I kinda just dumped the glitter on there. So here is another view. The light totally washed that part out…

Another page I made the other day. I was looking to find something for the picture I printed off. If is one of my favorites from my friends wedding. It is a group of my sorority sisters. I was limited on letters using the chipboard I had, but I could spell sisterhood, so I felt it was appropriate.

A day of scrapbooking

Yesterday was my half birthday! (yes I celebrate my half birthday) So I decided to do some thing fun! I spent the entire afternoon scrapbooking. I completely lost track of time, and watch a couple great chick flicks while doing so too. It was awesome. None of the pages I made were for challenges, but I think I want to find some great LO challenge blogs, and give myself some weekly challenges. I am still working on my spouses club scrapbook, but I need to set up my external hard drive to get the rest of my pictures, so I am at a stand still. I am having a scrapbook party next week, so I might just wait until then to make more for it.

What I found that I love is finding an old picture, and making a page for it. I am the most unorganized person, so I am working on like four scrapbooks at a time. But that is the fun of it. One day, I will finish them all. I AM only 26 and half. Plenty of time. Plus, I have no kids yet, except for my puppy Lucie. Now, when are you supposed to stop calling a dog a puppy? I mean is only 2, but I feel like I might call her that all her life Smile

Here is the first page I made. It is of my recruitment group during formal recruitment back in 2002. I love this picture. I had it push pined on a bulletin board in college and then I found it sitting the window sill yesterday and kinda freaked. So I needed to scrap it! The best part, was the picture was taken in front of the house I joined. Double awesome. We all pretty much joined different houses, and few dropped out, but in the end, they are some of the greatest people I know.

The paper used was from SEI Jocelyn paper pad. I loved all the papers, but wasn’t sure how they would look together. I think it turned out fairly well. I just got a i-rock, and used the glam rocks to add the studs to the page. I believe I used the Hannah Montana Cartridge for the font and stars… but I could be wrong. Sorry. If it is I will let you know in a later post.

This next page, I am only going to show some bits and pieces of it for privacy of the people on the pages, but I will have more of my personal stuff, which I am more than happy to share later.

I LOVE this paper. It is from my favorite paper stack – SEI Madeline. Love it! I love the gray with the light teal. Very formal, and soft. I used my i-rock on the jewels. The font was cut from Opposites Attract.

My new things I bought will be here MONDAY!! I can’t wait!! Hope you enjoyed! More to come later.

Found some time!

I finally found some time to scrapbook. I really only like to scrapbook when my husband is not around. So tonight was perfect. Plus I needed to find a reason to stay up late to wait for him, even though its 10pm, that is late to us. He’ll be home soon though!

In the spouses club I am in, I am the historian. My job is to make the scrapbook and take pictures at the events. Those are like my 2 favorite things anyway! I have been totally slacking this year, but I am still ahead of where I was last year, so that is an added bonus! I will share with you the pages I have made for the book.

The pictures I took of the pages are terrible. I really need to take pictures during the day…

So there are the two that I did today. The first page was made with SEI Bridgeport paper, and the second page was made with DCWV  Shimmer paper.

More to come… more to scrapbook!

I got myself some new presents

I did a little online shopping and spent the rest of my Christmas money. But I got me a CUTTLEBUG! I didn’t think I would ever want one, but lately, I think it would be a great idea, so I broke down, and bought one. I also ordered 3 new cartridges! Winter Woodlands (I have been wanting this one since last year), Nifty Fifties (my dad is a old car guy… perfect), and create-a-critter (I have seen so many cute projects with the cart I couldn’t pass it up). So I am looking forward to get my fun new toys and show you some things I am creating. I am going to put away all my Christmas stuff the rest of this week and hopefully get back into the swing of things next week!

I can’t wait! Until then, I will be reading other blogs, and building up my inspiration to create some new fun scrapbook pages! I love blog hopping!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all! I am currently on vacation, FINALLY! So I am far away from all of my crafting supplies. I will be back to getting things done in a week or so. I might update you if anything exciting happens… but so far Minnesota is FREEZING! I am so lame for not being used to this cold anymore. We will be here a couple more days then off to Missouri to be with the hubby’s family.

Hope you are all having a great 2011.
