My Favorite Project of the Year

My favorite project of the year…

IMG_0339

IMG_0350

It may be because it was my first “real” home décor project. It may be, because it is personal. Or it just may be, because it is me. (I have it hanging with our wedding pictures at my parent’s house)

Home really is where the Navy sends us. I am so thankful for all the amazing things the military has done for us in our lives. We may have missed some holidays, and not able to be with family during really important times, but we have met some of our best friends, lived in some great places, and we will still have plenty of adventures ahead of us!

I hope your 2012 is a great year! I look forward to bringing on new adventures, and I can’t wait to see what you are all up to!

Home for the Holidays

It feels so good to be home.

IMG_0380

I made this home from the Cricut Cartridge, Winter Woodlands. I used the paper I got in my SEI December Scrapbooking Club Kit, Silver Valley. I added some white flock to the top, to get the snow effect. Bummer is, here in Minnesota, we still do not have snow!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas, and I hope Santa brought you what you wished for! I got some Cricut Cartridges that were on my list, and some money. Which I spent online on Christmas day. I finally broke down and ordered the L Letterpress, Letterpress Plates, and ink! I can’t wait till it gets here!! I just want to play in the craft room!

My adorable nephew’s daycare lady has been on vacation these past couple weeks, so I have had double duty in the kid department! I am looking forward to next week when I only have one again. It will make for some more crafty time!

I also was able to join a gym! I was getting on that bandwagon BEFORE the first of the year. I have 5 months to get my body ready… and 8 months till HAWAII!! I still need to take my before picture. I hired a personal trainer, and I am going to do it!

Tomorrow, I am going to share my favorite thing I made this year. Does anyone know what it is?

I will also have a little giveaway starting around the first of the year… so stay tuned!!

Digital Layout in Photoshop

I am at my brothers house a few times a week, and when I have some free time, I am able to play with some digital scrapbook elements. I have Photoshop, and My Memories Suite.

I did some digital shopping at JessicaSprague.com. I love all of the digital elements there, and I love that several paper companies have digital papers and embellishments that you can use for personal scrapbook use!

I purchased the Pink Paislee Family Matters Paper Pack & Elements pack, and I wanted to share with you a quick layout that I made in Photoshop with them!

I LOVE these colors!! This a picture of my and my grandma at my nephew Jack’s baptism. My grandma is now 86 I think… I never excelled in math, but she was born in 1925! That I do know! I hope one day to have hair that white naturally just like her! I think its so awesome.

I hope you have a fabulous day!

A Packaged Wrapped

I am not at my own home, I am at my parents. Which I find weird being that I am a married grown up woman and have lived out of my parents house since the day I was married. But I find myself back, but for a short while. So when it comes to crafting, I am using what I brought, and what my mom has.

Now for Christmas, I can’t stand the thin wrapping paper. My Mom on the other hand must have stock in it, because she has tons of it… and I in the weirdest patterns.

One of my presents I wrapped myself, and I think it turned out cute, so I wanted to share!

IMG_0819

So simple, but I added the twine and slipped the tag in, and amazingness happened!

We had Christmas with my brother early, since he, and  his kids will be with his wife family for Christmas. My husband sent them my present and I got to open it on Sunday!! Wanna see what he got me??

It has NOTHING to do with crafting, but I love it so much!

IMG_0826

Hat too!! He personalized the jersey too, so if you ever see a #20, that says CHERIE on the back, its me!

Christmas is almost here!! And if you are still with me on this post, my mom finally started a blog!! She has no idea what she is doing, so it will be a slow process at first, but if you want to stop by and check it out you can visit, http://northwoodssneaker.blogspot.com, Yep. she is a Northwoods Sneaker… whatever that means! I guess you will have to stop by to see what its all about!

My mom might be mad I posted this picture, because I sure she won’t like it of herself, but I thought it was cute. This is her and her grandkids… the younger one was trying to kiss his older brother, it was so cute!

Hurricane Ridge Layout

I have been pretty lucky on traveling this year. And Luckily I LOVE it! One trip my husband I took was over Labor day weekend. We headed out the the Olympic Peninsula. We camped, we visited the most NW point of the continental United States, and we stopped at Hurricane Ridge.

Here is a layout I created using Echo Park’s Times & Seasons collection.

IMG_0812

“Hurricane Ridge” was cut on my Cricut E2, with the Birthday Cakes Cartridge.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Christmas with my brother and my nephews since they will be out of town for Christmas. Which means I better finish wrapping up their gifts!

Mini Christmas Cupcakes

My mom and I decided to buy a Cricut Cake when they were on sale for on $50!! Today we finally had a chance to play with it. My mom needed to make cupcakes for a Christmas Party at work.

IMG_0683

First she bake up a bunch of mini cupcakes and let them cool. We then frosted them.

IMG_0696

Don’t forget the sprinkles!

IMG_0705

We cut out little ornaments from Joy to the Season Cartridge on red fondant. We fit 140 on a page cut at 1” each.

IMG_0685

The white stuff is cornstarch. Then we added them to the frosted cupcakes!

And they were delicious! Happy holidays!

I have been working on many other craft projects! I love the holiday season!!
