Stylish Blogger Award

Hey everyone! I want to thank Teri from Creative Space, she passed along the Stylish blogger award to me. I received this a few weeks back, but I love the blogging/crafting community and wanted to thank her! For those of you unfamiliar with her, you should check out her blog. She has some amazing albums she has made.

I spent my day today, hoping that it wouldn’t snow so I could go to a meeting, but then it snowed and I did not feel like taking the almost hour drive down there with the unknown of these unsalted roads out here, so I stayed home, made some chili for dinner and worked on some scrapbook projects. Unfortunately they were projects I shouldn’t show on my blog, being it is for an organization, and it’s a gift.

I am also trying not to get sick. I am going bowling tomorrow, and my parents are coming to visit in a few weeks, so the last thing I need is to get sick… oh yuck. Anyways, I am going to spend the rest of the night with the hubby.

Have a wonderful night.

Happy Friday!

I woke up this morning, went for a 3.5 mile walk on my treadmill, then finally finished the scrapbook I have been working on for my cousin. I have been wanting to make this for my cousin for 3 years… but I didn’t start it until 2 and half years ago (when I lived in Florida). I did a few pages, then got busy, and moved to Washington. I have been here for 2 years, and started to finish it THIS WEEK… I told her I was making her something for her graduation, which turned into birthday, then Christmas, and has now cycled almost 3 years!

Anywho, here are some of the pages. This is the LAST page, but my FAVORITE.

I didn’t want to take them out of the plastic sleeves so sorry about the glare. This photo was taken by my AMAZING wedding photographer (Olena Graphics). If you are getting married in Minnesota, I would HIGHLY recommend her. Her work is FABULOUS!

Back when we would let people take our pictures in bikinis!

LOVE that one! (they are from my bachelorette party)

And then of course the COVER. I might do a little more to the cover, I am just waiting for the glitter to dry.

I ALSO  came across this AMAZING giveaway over at Creating From the Heart.

She is giving away all of these things below!

Now wouldn’t you love to win that!! I sure would! So be sure to head on over to her blog! The link it in her name above!

Have a wonderful weekend! I know I will (it’s a busy one)

Engagement Card

Wonderful news! My cousin (who was my maid of honor) got engaged a couple weeks ago! I am so excited for her, she is one of my best friends. Our Mom’s are sisters, and we were born 2 weeks apart from each other. Growing up we lived 5 miles from each other too. Which makes her practically my sister. (She has two other sisters, but I have none, so she is the closest thing to it).

I thought it would be fun to make her a card, because now in life we live a couple thousand miles apart (which stinks). I call her weekly, so it has been hard for me to go through life without her. When go home to visit, I see her almost EVERY DAY!

Here is the card. I used SEI paper Jocelyn. One of my favorites, it is so elegant, and I use it for “special occasions” only. This is defiantly one of them.

I used Tie the Knot, and Sweethearts cartridges. I always get those two mixed up, but I LOVE them both. One is more related to weddings, while the other can be used for dating, engagements, and cute love things.

Here is the inside. I cut out this adorable car! I thought I was perfect for them.

I need to put this in the mail today, but I am going to spend the rest of the afternoon scrapbooking! I am so excited.

Other great news… I am going to EUROPE with my mom this summer! WOO HOO!! Only problem, I need some spending money. So, I am going to get a part time job (bummer). But it will be nice to have some extra dough, and if I am part time, I will still have time to scrap, so I am good. My parents are coming out to visit in a few weeks too! I am so much going on, and they are all AWESOME things!

My hubby is outside shoveling the snow the plow put in front of our driveway… and it was a lot! I am nice and toasty inside, and will work out here in a bit!

Have a great day!

I was going to post the card, but it SNOWED!

We had a snow day today! It was amazing! I think we got about 7 inches of snow. I think the rest of the country got snow this year, but Washington failed to give us enough to love it. So what did I do? I became a kid again, and played in it!

Here is a pic of my friend Sue and her son in the snow. He is such a cutie!

We got really creative today, and also built a fort! This is the inside of it. We were waiting for our husbands to come outside so we could ambush them, but once we finished the fort, Sue’s husband came by, and we hadn’t made snowballs yet! haha. but we worked hard for 2 hours!

Here is what the snow did in our backyard. It was so pretty this morning! And the flakes were huge! Being that I am from Minnesota, I really needed this snow.

If we have another snow day tomorrow that would be great! It is supposed to get pretty cold tonight, and snow again tomorrow. I would much rather my hubby not have to go into work. It would feel much safer.

Anyways. I had a fabulous day, and got NOTHING done. Tomorrow should be another story. I will post the card, and hopefully make some other things too! have a great night.

Peace. Love. Dove.

Busy week!

Oh man, I have been slacking on my blog. So sorry! But I have been scrapping. Most of the stuff I can’t really share on my blog. But I did make an engagement card for my cousin. I will post that tomorrow.

It has been a crazy week. I have gone geocaching a couple of days, out taking pictures, enjoying this beautiful weather.

If anyone has any suggestions for a HEE HAW themed party… I am in the looksie for decoration ideas. This theme will take over my life in the next couple months, but I will try to bring you back to reality too with the things I make.

I have been super tired today, and my hubby will be home soon, but I have to go pick him up. So, I  have been trying to get the house together, or should I say, one the internet all day doing nothing important.

For some good news though, my mom is taking me to Europe this summer!! I am so excited. We are trying to figure out which tour to take, and who to take it through. I live in Italy for a summer while in college, and my mom has a pen pal in England that she would have to go see. So, we would love to do a Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, England tour. We will see what we come up with. If any of you have been, please let me know! I would love to hear about your trip, and who you went through! If we go this summer, we have to book soon, cause the time frame we want is filling up fast!

It will be a fun Mother-Daughter bonding. I can’t wait. Have a wonderful rest of the day, and I should be back tomorrow with some things to share!

Peace. Love. Dove.

Scrapbooking Party at my place today!

I am having a scrapbooking party at my house today. I am super excited. We are working on a year long project as a gift for someone :)

As I am waiting for people to arrive, I am hopping around to different blogs. Jamie over at Jayden's Mommy is giving away a "Just Because" Cricut Cartridge for having 100 followers. I am so excited for her, and I realized that her son Jayden was born on the EXACT same day as my nephew Jack! (You can see pictures of him a few posts back at his first birthday party.) So I am doubly excited for her, and that we have something in common :)

Here is a project that I made last year for a friend. I decorated a wine bottle, and then added a pocket and put lottery tickets in it. I have never shared it, but it is one of my favorites :)

Have a great day!

Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop

I had so much fun today checking out the blogs on the Cricky across the 50 Blog Hop. For those of you that don't know, I have a goal in life to visit all 50 states. I have not tracked them yet. but I might get around to it soon. With all the road trips we have had to take, I am sure I have covered several states, and I need to take pictures in all of them. How cool would it be to have a scrapbook page of every state??

I realized I never posted my page that I made from Alaska on my blog. I put in an album on my facebook page but never blogged about it. I love this page it is of the John Hopkins Glacier in Glacier Bay Alaska. We took a cruise on Princess this past summer for our 2 year late honeymoon. It was the most AMAZING time we have ever had!!

Can you believe I took this picture from the boat! It was a PERFECT day!! Speaking of Alaska cruise. My husband and I entered a contest on Facebook through Princess Cruises to win another cruise. We just need votes!! If you are on facebook, and you have time please visit OUR ENTRY and vote for us! If the link doesn't take you there, or takes you to the page with everyone's entry, type "Cherie" into the search box. I am the only one ;)

Along the way on the 50 states blog hop I came across a new site & blog called Create & Craft. They have an awesome giveaway for this blog hop! A YourStory package!! So visit them, participate in the blog hop, and if you can, vote for me in my facebook competition (we could win a chance to go on another cruise)! Thanks so much and have a GREAT weekend!!

Share the Love Crawl Challenge

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog has another wonderful challenge for this week. The challenge was to include LOVE in a card, layout or other project. I love scrapbooking so I was in for another layout. Since I still have my entire wedding to scrapbook, I thought I would start there. I used  one of my absolute favorite pictures, and it was of my wedding flowers.

I used the Sweethearts and create-a-critter Cartridges.

Thanks to my wonderful photographer Olena Graphics! She is awesome!

Celebration Challenge!

Karen over at Karens-Kakes-Krafts is having a challenge this month. The challenge is to make a card or a layout for a celebration. Lucky for me, my nephew Jack turned ONE on 1-11-11. I was home for the birthday celebration so I took a bunch of pictures of him, and made a layout from the party. Here is what I came up with.

I used the new Corinne line from SEI that I got in my club SEI kit this month. The colors were perfect for his birthday! I also used the Sweet Treats and Alphalicious cartridges.

I added glitter instead of jewels. I figure since he is a boy, glitter was a better option. I hope you enjoyed seeing what I made!

A Blog Award! How cool!

A blog award! How awesome!! Thanks so much! I am new to Blogging, so this is great to have received. And I am so excited to pass it on!

Thank you Leah from Leah’s Card Designs! Leah, thank you so much! It was a great surprise to see today! Check out her blog, she has so super adorable cards she has made :)

Upon receiving this award I must thank the person (s) and link it back to their blog, inform all the new recipients of their award, and share 8 things about myself. Pass it on to 8 individuals (blogs) that you recently discovered. This is always a great way to find new inspiration so be sure to check them out!

I have seen this on many blogs I follow, so I am going to find some new ones which I follow, and of course LOVE!

My first goes to my great friend Annabelle. I have known Ann for many years. You could find us in high school sewing purses, tye dying t-shirts (don’t forget the undies and sports bras we tye dyed and puffy painted… yep, we were that cool), and baking! Smile  Check here out at Annabelle Bumps.

For next seven, here we go.

My Scrappy Journey

(If you already have received this award, my apologizes. I tried to search blogs I followed and searched to see if the award was given.)

So for the eight things about myself.

1. I am from Minnesota. I grew up in the same house (my parents still live there), and since I have been married (2.5 years) my husband and I have moved twice, to other states, on the opposite sides of the country!

2. I am a geocacher, and I LOVE it! My goal is one in every state. Which means I want to visit every state!

3. I love baseball. Go TWINS!! I even went to a game for my Bachelorette Party!

4. I am a sorority girl. I would not say typical because I am not the image you would think of, but I loved my college years, and I made many best friends. I will be one till I die, and all my friends know that it is high on my importance list. It holds a place in my heart, and I make many references to it on my blog.

5. My husband and went on our honeymoon 2 years late to ALASKA!

6. I love giraffes. I have no idea where it came from, but people send me giraffes as gifts now, and I have an awesome collection in our guest bedroom. One day, when we decide to have children, it will be a giraffe themed nursery.

7. Dark chocolate is the best, but I am on a diet right now (doing the healthy eating and working out daily), so I haven’t had any chocolate in a couple weeks! My mom and I are competing. If I lose more weight than her by the time she comes and sees me in march, she is taking me on a trip to EUROPE! So I have to do this, I would LOVE to go back to Europe.

8. I have a dog named Lucie (and an obsession with –ie), she is a mix --- lab, border collie, and something else. She is 40 some odd pounds. Growing up, I was AFRAID of dogs, so it is weird that I have one. But I love her bunches and she gets me though deployments when my husband is away. She is our child.

So that’s a little about me!

I might craft this weekend, but I left all of my cartridges at my friends house (its next door---haha). So before I get in the crafting zone, I should probably go over there and get them.

Have a fabulous weekend!
